600 Israeli Ex-Officials Urge Trump: Step In to End Gaza War Now

In a bold move, over 600 former Israeli security leaders—including ex-heads of Mossad, Shin Bet, and the IDF—have appealed directly to Donald Trump, urging him to intervene and push for an immediate end to the war in Gaza.

The retired officials argued that Hamas no longer presents a strategic threat to Israel and that continued military action only deepens the humanitarian crisis. They believe Trump's credibility in Israel could be key to influencing Prime Minister Netanyahu’s decision-making.

“You’ve helped end wars before. It’s time to stop this one too,” they wrote in an open letter, referencing Trump’s past efforts in Lebanon.

This plea comes as Israel plans to expand its Gaza operations, even as ceasefire negotiations with Hamas have reached a standstill. Meanwhile, harrowing reports continue to emerge from Gaza: over 60,000 people have been killed since the conflict began in October 2023, and at least 180—half of them children—have died from starvation, according to Gaza's health ministry.

Adding to the pressure, recent videos released by Hamas showing frail hostages have reignited calls for immediate action. While Netanyahu insists military pressure will bring hostages home, critics argue that diplomacy—not more violence—is the solution.

Former Mossad and military chiefs now lead a growing movement demanding that hostage recovery and civilian welfare take precedence over further bloodshed. They warn that escalating the conflict will only damage Israel’s global standing and worsen the suffering on both sides.

Do you believe international figures like Donald Trump can truly influence peace in Gaza—or is the solution entirely in Israel’s hands?
