Fresh Wave of Russian Attacks Hits Ukrainian Cities
Ukraine faced another devastating night as Russian drones and missiles tore through multiple cities, killing at least six people — including two children — and wounding 21 others.
President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the strikes as further proof that Moscow isn’t under enough global pressure to stop its aggression.
“These attacks show that Russia feels free to act without consequences,” Zelensky said, calling for stronger international action.
🏛️ Trump Freezes Planned Talks with Putin
Only hours before the strikes, U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that his long-awaited summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, initially planned for Budapest, has been put on hold.
Trump described the move as necessary to avoid a “wasted meeting,” adding that meaningful peace negotiations could only happen under the right conditions.
The Kremlin, however, dismissed recent calls from both Trump and European leaders for a ceasefire, insisting that “the situation on the ground dictates the terms.”
⚔️ Ukraine’s Retaliation: A Strike Inside Russia
In a rare offensive move, Ukraine’s military announced it had struck a Russian chemical plant in the Bryansk border region using UK-supplied Storm Shadow missiles.
Officials said the attack was a “successful hit” that breached Russian air defenses. The targeted plant reportedly produced gunpowder, explosives, and rocket fuel components used in Russia’s ongoing missile assaults.
“This was not symbolic — it was strategic,” a Ukrainian defense official said. “We targeted the very source of the weapons used to destroy our homes.”
🏙️ Kyiv Under Fire Again
The Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, endured its first large-scale attack in weeks, with explosions shaking the city overnight.
A couple in their 60s was killed when a drone slammed into their apartment building. In the Kyiv region, four more people died — including a woman, a six-month-old baby, and a 12-year-old girl.
Emergency crews battled flames across several neighborhoods as air raid sirens echoed until dawn.
⚡ Energy Crisis Deepens
Beyond the human toll, the strikes once again targeted Ukraine’s critical energy infrastructure, forcing emergency blackouts across multiple regions.
Officials warned that winter could be catastrophic if these assaults continue, urging international partners for urgent support to protect power grids and civilian areas.
💬 Zelensky: “Diplomacy Weakens When Weapons Are Denied”
Zelensky hinted that the U.S. refusal to supply Tomahawk missiles during his recent visit to Washington emboldened Moscow.
“As soon as long-range support slipped further away from us, Russia’s interest in diplomacy vanished,” he said.
