Trump Condemns Brutal Killing of Indian Motel Manager
Former US President Donald Trump has strongly condemned the shocking murder of Chandra Mouli Nagamallaiah, a 50-year-old Indian-origin motel manager in Dallas, Texas.
The victim was attacked by his co-worker, Yordanis Cobos-Martinez, a Cuban undocumented immigrant, during a heated dispute over a broken washing machine. The attack, carried out with a machete, took place in front of Nagamallaiah’s wife and son.
Trump’s Tough Message on Immigration
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated:
“The time for being soft on these Illegal Immigrant Criminals is OVER under my watch.”
He assured that Cobos-Martinez, now charged with first-degree murder, would face the harshest punishment under US law. Trump also blamed the Biden administration for releasing the suspect despite his criminal history, arguing that Cuba’s refusal to accept deportees has put Americans at risk.
Immigration Loopholes Under Scrutiny
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that Cobos-Martinez had a final order of removal but was released earlier this year under supervision after Cuba declined to take him back due to his record. He is currently in Dallas County Jail, with ICE monitoring the case.
Remembering the Victim
Nagamallaiah, who hailed from Karnataka, India, moved to the US in 2018 and worked at the Downtown Suites Motel. He had recently celebrated his son’s high school graduation.
His funeral was held on September 13 in Flower Mound, Texas, attended by grieving family and friends. A fundraiser launched to support his family has raised over $321,000.
